A Stroll Thru Life
As you guys know if you have followed me for a while, I love shopping Thrift stores & Goodwill to decorate my home.. I think you can find some great treasures if you are patient and persistent. It's also amazing what a little paint and fabric can do to revive a piece. I thought it would be fun to do a series of Thrift Store Rooms to show you how to get the look for less - much less.
I get a lot of questions about thrift shopping and how to put a room together on a budget, sometimes an almost non-existent budget. Over the past few years I have put several rooms together that I think show how you can pull a room together with thrifty finds, roadside treasures and freebies. Think outside the box and mix things up for a fresh new look.
When my son got his new house a few years ago, he managed to pull his familyroom together with things he already had. It looks fabulous and is really a comfortable room. However, this home has a formal living room, and that was another story. No furniture at all. . He didn't want to spend a lot of money, so I convinced him we could find some used things. He wasn't so sure, but said go for it. I think I did good. Since you all know that I stalk the Goodwill around her, I finally managed to find enough pieces from GW (Goodwill), roadside freeby and DT (DollarTree) to create a great looking room.
I am so proud, I think it turned out fabulous.
